Frequently asked questions | Damaged items

First contact the seller directly via website message to find out if the damage on the item is new or was pre-existing.

The seller will need to make contact with the courier / postal service used for delivery if the damage is new. Be sure to keep the packaging and the item as it will need to be inspected.

If the damage was pre-existing, then you will need to discuss this with the seller directly. Most sellers look to avoid negative reviews so will try to do their best to refund you (a partial or full refund) or help sort out the issue.

If you are unable to resolve the issue with the seller, then, you can file a dispute with the Disputers Tribunal. This costs between $45 to $180 depending on the value of your claim. For information on this option please refer to the Ministry of Justice's website.
